Senegal: BOAD and BNDE finance the Dakar-Diamniadio Sports City project

The Board of Directors of the West African Development Bank (BOAD) approved on June 24 a financing of 10.5 billion FCFA (18 million US dollars) for the Dakar-Diamniadio Sports City project.

This financing comes in addition to the 9 billion FCFA (15.5 million US dollars) granted by the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) for which the agreements were already signed on Friday, June 19, 2020. “I am delighted with the great confidence that these two major banks in the sub-region are doing to the DDSC project, ”said Madani Maki Tall, promoter of the project.

The BOAD Board of Directors in particular praised the innovative side of the project as well as the prospects of making it one of the main points of application of Dakar’s positioning as a world-class sports and leisure tourism platform in coming years. The arrival of the Marriott brand will strengthen the qualitative positioning of the project developed by the DDSC and WIETC teams with a powerful local banking pool and the support of the Senegalese authorities.
